In general, Cerbone presents Husserl as seeking to develop a ‘pure’ phenomenology of the transcendental ego that inevitably ends up as a transcendental underztanding. Cerbone goes on to acknowledge that phenomenology as a movement is a very broad church; nevertheless, he believes that certain key aspects of its method are quite clearly discernible, and he goes on to argue for its continued relevance for addressing issues in contemporary philosophy, including issues in the philosophy of understandiny at the end of the book he discusses Daniel Dennett, for instance.

Thank you, Dan Abnett, and thank you, Gregor Eisenhorn. The heroic duardin stepped forth into the Realm of Chaos to fight the daemons gnawing at the world’s ending and satisfy his death oath, leaving behind his companion Felix Jaeger. A characterful and engaging narration, making full use of the unusual first person perspective and drawing the listener in. I think part of this may be because this book was written earlier in Abnett’s career or maybe he doesn’t fan as much of a knack for that kind of writing.

The performance was absolutely superb, with the variety of voices and dialects clear and entertaining.

I have a soft spot for the Warhammer 40K universe, I’ve read daan a few books from the Black Library before, and for the most part they’ve been enjoyable military sci-fi set in a grim and dark universe where war is eternal and humanity faces a desperate fight for survival against unforgiving aliens and the mind warping demons of chaos. The world of Warhammer 40k is large enough for a ton of separate stories on a load of different characters, events and locations.

Conversely, franchise knowledge will not spoil all its secrets, leaving a developing mystery to grip all readers. Highly recommended, By far one of my favourite stories within the 40k universe. Our story begins with Gregor Eisenhorn, an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos hunting down the Heretic and Recidivist known as Eyclone, finally tracking him to the planet of Hubris where Eyclone plans the genocide of countless thousands of the ruling elite as they hibernate through the long winter of the planet.
Xenos is slightly different to the previous Black Library books I’ve read, it follows an Inquisitor named Gregor Eisenhorn who is charged with hunting heretics, a I have a soft spot for the Warhammer 40K universe, I’ve read quite a few books from the Black Library before, and for the most part they’ve been enjoyable military sci-fi set in a grim and dark universe where war is eternal and humanity faces a desperate fight for survival against unforgiving aliens and the mind warping demons of chaos.

Capable of crime-novel intrigue, chilling elements of thriller, and clearly described yet elabourate action scenes, tied together with a gifted narrator that gives life and clarity to dialogue.

While enriched by the knowledge, Xenos is told as such that it can be enjoyed with no prior knowledge of the universe.
