Thank you, Dan Abnett, and thank you, Gregor Eisenhorn. The heroic duardin stepped forth into the Realm of Chaos to fight the daemons gnawing at the world’s ending and satisfy his death oath, leaving behind his companion Felix Jaeger. A characterful and engaging narration, making full use of the unusual first person perspective and drawing the listener in. I think part of this may be because this book was written earlier in Abnett’s career or maybe he doesn’t fan as much of a knack for that kind of writing.

People who bought this also bought Now, encased in a life support sytem that keeps him alive but forever cuts him off from the physical world, Ravenor utilises his formidable mental powers xfnos continue his investigations.

Charged with protecting the Master of Mankind from all threats, within and without, their fearsome resolve is renowned throughout the galaxy, and their golden armour is the last thing that a would-be assassin or saboteur will ever see.
The performance was absolutely superb, with the variety of voices and dialects clear and entertaining.
So, if you like science fiction, and didn’t delve into the universe just yet I enjoyed the novel, Eisenhorn was really well developed as a character and his companions were interesting and compelling too. None Royal Mail International Standard. View all 3 comments.
I have a soft spot for the Warhammer 40K universe, I’ve read daan a few books from the Black Library before, and for the most part they’ve been enjoyable military sci-fi set in a grim and dark universe where war is eternal and humanity faces a desperate fight for survival against unforgiving aliens and the mind warping demons of chaos. The world of Warhammer 40k is large enough for a ton of separate stories on a load of different characters, events and locations.

Conversely, franchise knowledge will not spoil all its secrets, leaving a developing mystery to grip all readers. Highly recommended, By far one of my favourite stories within the 40k universe. Our story begins with Gregor Eisenhorn, an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos hunting down the Heretic and Recidivist known as Eyclone, finally tracking him to the planet of Hubris where Eyclone plans the genocide of countless thousands of the ruling elite as they hibernate through the long winter of the planet.

Capable of crime-novel intrigue, chilling elements of thriller, and clearly described yet elabourate action scenes, tied together with a gifted narrator that gives life and clarity to dialogue.
Xenos did not ever completely hook me like I hoped and expected it would. Feb 14, Cheryl Matthynssens rated it really liked it. Can’t wait to start the other ones. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. This is a wonderfully entertaining listen. While enriched by the knowledge, Xenos is told as such that it can be enjoyed with no prior knowledge of the universe.
